Life as a college student can be difficult and feel exhausting. theHeart spent an evening encouraging and refreshing the spirits of students with music and prayer. Intern Mikayla Brown shares more about the event she helped orchestrate.
On Sunday night we had the opportunity to gather together as a community of college students. It was beautiful to be able to simply just sit and worship with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
It's easy to get stuck in the everyday life of college, so we also took some time to be really intentional about our God-given passions and dreams. We wrote them down and then prayed over one another's lives and dreams.
We drew encouragement from the scriptures, focusing on Psalm 126 and Acts 13. It was the sweetest time of community for us to just gather together and dwell in our Father's presence.
“When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” –Psalm 126:2-3
As in Psalm 126:4, God truly did use the time we spent worshiping and praying to restore and refresh our spirits, like streams in the Negev.
A special thanks to Grace King, one of theHeart interns, for capturing such beautiful images from this special time together.
